This exquisite vintage buckle ring features a wonderful smooth chunky band with a star set Diamond, modelled throughout in chunky 9ct Gold.
Buckle rings were given in the Victorian era as a token of love or friendship. Belt and Buckle motif jewellery symbolised that the giver and recipient were as well matched as a belt and its buckle. They also represented eternity, fidelity/loyalty, strength and protection.
This buckle ring is a particularly fine example, as it features plain smooth band with the buckle belt detailing. The ring also has a full set of hallmarks, including the London assay office, dating this piece to 1978.
This ring would make the perfect stacking band or a great addition to any collection.
